Ingredients
1½ lbs shaved steak or sandwich steak
1 Tbsp cornstarch
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
Steak seasoning (to taste)
1 red bell pepper (sliced)
1 green bell pepper (sliced)
1 onion (sliced)
1 packet au jus gravy mix
1 cup water
Teriyaki sauce (for topping)
Oil (for cooking)
Instructions
Add the shaved steak to a bowl and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and steak seasoning. Add the cornstarch and toss until the steak is evenly coated.
Heat a drizzle of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook until browned and cooked.
Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
Add another drizzle of oil to the same skillet. Add the sliced red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and onion. Sauté until softened and slightly browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the peppers and onions.
Sprinkle in the au jus packet and add water. Stir everything together and let simmer for a few minutes, until the sauce thickens and coats the steak and vegetables.
Drizzle teriyaki sauce over the top to taste and toss everything together.
Serve hot over rice with additional teriyaki sauce, if desired.
